OUR APPROACH
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
Approach
Step-Down Care
Intensive Outpatient Programming (IOP) can provide a structured level of care for individuals transitioning from inpatient treatment or for those who need more support than traditional outpatient therapy. The program offers regular therapeutic services while allowing patients to continue living at home and maintaining many daily responsibilities.
Individual, Group, and Family Therapy
Treatment may include individual therapy, group therapy, and family involvement when appropriate. Services are tailored to each patient’s needs and treatment goals, providing ongoing support and reinforcing skills learned throughout the treatment process.
Psychoeducation
Patients receive education related to mental health, substance use disorders, coping strategies, stress management, symptom recognition, and recovery support. These services are designed to help individuals better understand their conditions and participate actively in their treatment plans.
Benefits
Structured Outpatient Support
IOP provides a higher level of support than traditional outpatient therapy while offering flexibility for patients who are able to live at home. This model allows individuals to receive regular treatment while continuing work, school, family, or other daily responsibilities when appropriate.
Opportunities to Apply Treatment Skills
Participating in treatment while living in the community allows patients to practice coping strategies, communication skills, and other techniques discussed in therapy within their daily environments.
Continuity of Care
Ongoing therapy, psychiatric services, and care coordination can help support treatment goals following inpatient hospitalization or during periods when additional behavioral health support is needed. Regular engagement with the treatment team provides opportunities to address challenges, review progress, and adjust treatment plans as clinically appropriate.
